Hybrid work arrangements mean that instead of a default work location, the office is now a destination; a place to collaborate, meet with team members, and build community.
In order to accommodate these new uses, the design of the office has to change. Employees are looking for hybrid spaces and agile systems that adapt to their flexible work styles. Rolling Office, from B+N Industries, is a direct response to this new way of working. Comprised of rolling tables, partition walls, and taborets with wireless power, the Rolling Office is a kit of parts that snaps together, just as easily creating a space for dynamic collaboration as an oasis of focus and calm.
“Rolling Office is a fluid workspace solution that is agile,” says Kevin McPhee, its designer. “It meets the needs of both individuals and teams, with no singular permanent fixed layout. It can react to both individuals and collaborations at any given time.”
As work becomes more mobile, we’re less tied to our desks, but more attached to our devices, explains McPhee, Rolling Office supports that trend with tetherless tech. “Battery bank power provides enough remote device support throughout the workspace, inside and out, regardless of the location line-voltage outlets,” he explains. These rolling, powered units are perfect for impromptu brainstorming sessions and collaborative meetings.
McPhee believes that designing workplace of the future is about creating an inclusive and generous space where workers can be their best, most creative selves. Rolling Office responds to the new realities of hybrid work and gives designers and workers the flexibility to make the office a destination.
